Migrate Document Folders To OneDrive

Instructions


Prior Starting: Ensure OneDrive is running on your laptop

  • Ensure that the OneDrive icon is visible in the lower right taskbar and is Blue in colour and has either a tick or a two arrows logo


If it shows as grey, please following these instructions.


  1. Click the OneDrive icon, in the lower-right taskbar
  2. Sign in with your school email address (e.g jbloggs@tpa.keystrust.org)
  3. OneDrive will then set up a folder called: OneDrive - PKAT within your documents folder.



Step 1: ? Locate Your 'Documents' Folder

  1. Open File Explorer from your task bar (the yellow folder icon ? ) 
  2. On the left sidebar, click This PC
  3. Right-click on the 'Documents' folder and then click on Properties
  4. Next go to the Location tab


Step 2: ?  Move "Documents" to OneDrive

  1. Within the Location tab, click the Move... button.
  2. Navigate to and click on OneDrive - PKAT, then click on Select Folder
  3. Click Apply, then Yes when asked to move your files


This will then begin to move all of your files in the "Documents" folder to OneDrive


Step 3: Repeat

  • You can now do the same for your Desktop, Pictures, Music and Videos folders.



Confirm Syncing

After moving folders, it may take a few minutes to being syncing.

✅  You will see a gree checkmark next to your synced files and folders.

? If you see a syncing icon, it means it's still being uploaded.
